We hired Matt, originally, to repair an exterior door damaged by tenants. While we discussed that job, we asked if he was interested in the tough job of painting all of our wood cabinets in the kitchen. It’s a finicky and detailed job, yet he agreed immediately. As our modest renovations proceeded, other somewhat difficult jobs arose, such as re-staining a 14-foot mantle, again tenant damaged. Every time a job came up, big or small (like a multitude of paint touch-ups), he agreed to do it. That was wonderful for us.

 

All of the work he did was excellent. When he ran into unexpected problems, he found solutions for them. He was always here when he said he would be and we came to know that we could rely on him, not common for many construction contractors. He answered all of our questions honestly and in a timely manner.

 

Because we had several other contractors working here, and had trouble getting the correct supplies delivered, Matt had to work around a very fluid schedule (the schedule went out the window, after so many supply problems!). He never minded the “moving target” and was always positive about getting the job done.

 

His final price matched exactly what he quoted. He was very upfront with what the “extras” would cost. For the work done, we indeed got value for our money.

 

We are thrilled with the results and have added him to our “Dream Team”. After living in Canmore for over 17 years, we deal only with people that we trust will do an excellent job (electrical, plumbing, painting, cleaning etc.). Only the very good contractors are added to that team. They are the ones who never need a second chance!
